The Family Medicine Center serves patients of all ages. We feature patient focused continuity care, treatment for urgent problems and innovative clinical programs in integrative medicine, diabetes and family centered maternity care.   Our Medical Student Programs faculty
have developed a series of new electives and selectives to expose clinical students to the breadth of our specialty and the numerous career options available in our field. These new offerings can

Courses in Family Medicine
     
The Residency Program features innovative care models across a broad spectrum of patients, from group visits for prenatal and diabetes care and outpatient procedures, to an innovative hospitalist and maternity care program.   Our Fellowship Opportunities include the Faculty Development Fellowship, a part-time program now in its 25th year, the NRSA Primary Care Research Fellowship, and the Career Development Fellowship.
     
Our Research Division includes nationally recognized researchers and in many aspects of health services and policy research. Department faculty have federally funded grants.   Family Medicine at UNC is also a Statewide Department, with residencies at Asheville, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Concord, Greensboro, Hendersonville, Monroe and Wilmington. Our residencies have an outstanding track record for educational commitment and service to their communities and the state.
